Arts alumni in L.A., New York

Lorraine Thompson, the drama department chairwoman for Athens Academy, keeps in touch with her former students, many of whom are studying fine arts in college or have gone on to pursue careers in the fine arts field. Here she updates how some of her students are doing in their fields:

► Class of 2007 graduate Aaron Strand is currently appearing as Michael Rockefeller in the world premiere of "The Man Who Ate Michael Rockefeller," a new play by Jeff Cohen, based on the short story by Christopher Stokes and directed by Alfred Preisser. The production will play a four-week limited engagement at New York's West End Theatre. Strand, who is completing his theater degree at New York University, is the son of Mike Strand and Jena Johnson of Athens.

► Class of 2005 alumnus Mallory Moye recently appeared in Brooklyn Underground's production of The Artful Conspirators, directed by David A. Miller. Moye lives and works as an actress in New York City and has recently done voiceover work for DSW Shoes and The Olive Garden television advertisements. She is the daughter of Danny and Rebecca Moye of Watkinsville.

► Kendall Sherwood, also from the Class of 2005, is in the screenwriting and playwriting masters program at Northwestern Uni
